You may think a cooperage is a cooperage, but it's just not so. Here's what sets us apart…
Northern White Oak
Quercus alba, also known as white oak is ideal for aging spirits and imparts highly desirable qualities to the liquid contained.
As a result of the climatic conditions of the northeast, our white oak grows with tight growth rings, and tighter grain which results in a superior barrel. Charring and curing the oak before construction also bestows aroma and flavor.
Contact with fire-bent, toasted oak introduces a range of flavors and affects the mouthfeel of the spirit. Exposure to heat converts compounds in the wood and brings out aromas such as vanilla, caramel, nut, and smoke.
Air Dried and Kiln Dried
We use a system of exposing staves to weather in order to reduce tanins, and also kiln dry to reduce moisture. The reward is a consistent, high quality, barrel that yields a rich, deep and layered profile.
Wide Range of Sizes
Our high-quality barrels are built to five standard gallon/diameter sizes.
Quality Components
We manufacture our wooden and metal components in-house and to our spec. Northern white oak, galvanized steel bands, and silicone bonds result in a high quality barrel that is as functional as it is beautiful.
